The multi-support electric overhead traveling crane is a crane designed for special purposes. It is available in single‑girder and double‑girder configurations. This crane is specially designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of industrial plants or warehouses with extra‑large spans, such as aircraft manufacturing plants and aircraft maintenance hangars. This type of crane reduces the impact of crane weight on the roof structure of such buildings, helps lower the building height, and saves substantial construction costs.
Main structure and components
Bridge: Single‑girder or double‑girder structure. The main girder and end carriage are connected by grade 10.9 high‑strength bolts.
Hoisting mechanism: Can be equipped with a European‑type electric hoist or a chain hoist, with an anti‑swing function.
Travel mechanism: Driven by a three‑in‑one drive unit (motor + gearbox + brake), standard with SEW brand, using stepless frequency control.
Electrical system: PLC control system and frequency control for speed adjustment. Power supply: single‑pole busbar for the crane, and C‑rail + flat cable for the trolley.
Maximum span: up to 90 m.
Load distribution via multiple supports significantly reduces plant construction costs.
Smooth and safe operation: adjustable horizontal guide wheels ensure stable travel and prevent rail gnawing.
Independent friction drive design prevents wheel slippage.
Articulated double‑wheel end carriage reduces the load of each wheel on the crane rail.
Elastic connection of the drive unit eliminates lateral forces on the end carriage, extending equipment life.
Flexible suspension points effectively counteract horizontal stresses from special grid roof structures, minimizing the stress impact on the building structure.
Main applications
Multi‑support electric overhead traveling cranes are mainly used in extra‑large, long‑span industrial and transportation facilities:
Aerospace: aircraft final assembly, maintenance hangars, component transport.
High‑end manufacturing: final assembly workshops for high‑speed trains / EMUs, ship block assembly workshops, etc.
Special processes: metal hot‑dip galvanizing workshops.
Large warehousing and logistics: warehouses requiring large‑span coverage.
Product Features
Multi-support, large span, and wide coverage area within the workshop.
Adjustable horizontal guide wheels to ensure smooth crane travel and guidance.
Independent friction drive design maintains constant friction between the drive wheel and the rail, preventing wheel slippage.
Separate travel wheels and friction wheels for easy assembly and maintenance.
The end carriage adopts an articulated double-wheel set design, reducing the load of each individual wheel on the crane rail.
Elastic connection between the drive unit and the end carriage, imposing no lateral force on the end carriage.
