Semi‑gantry cranes can be divided into single‑girder and double‑girder types according to their structure. The hoisting mechanism can be either an electric hoist or a winch. The semi‑gantry crane consists of a main girder, an electric trolley, and a supporting leg on one side. This design allows one end of the crane to be fixed to a building wall, column, or other structure, while the other end is supported by an independent leg. With this configuration, the crane makes full use of the available floor space.
The main girder has a box‑section welded structure. The travel mechanism for the large (crane) motion uses independent drives. Operation modes of the semi‑gantry crane include floor control, radio remote control, and cabin control.
This semi‑gantry crane adopts non‑contact modular speed regulation, enabling fine tuning and two‑speed operation, resulting in particularly smooth travel and lifting/lowering motions. The control system is simple and uses frequency conversion control.
The crane has two power supply options: cable type (steel cable) or sliding contact wire type.
Thanks to this design, the semi‑gantry crane can cover a larger working area and provide efficient material handling solutions within limited spaces.
Main application scenarios
Industrial manufacturing: Widely used in machining workshops, automobile production lines, and aerospace component assembly. Especially suitable for renovation of old workshops or addition of new equipment.
Logistics and warehousing: For loading/unloading and stacking goods in confined spaces such as warehouses and distribution centers, effectively improving space utilisation and operational efficiency.
Special working conditions: A clean‑room semi‑gantry crane with dust‑ and oil‑resistant characteristics can be customised for clean environments such as precision electronics, food, and pharmaceutical industries; outdoor models for cargo handling at ports and terminals; and stainless steel versions designed to meet high hygiene and corrosion resistance requirements.
